Having problems making your mortgage payments?
Due to our current economic turmoil many families in Hawaii are experiencing difficulty paying their mortgage and are not sure what their options are or who they can trust for help and advice. CCCS of Hawaii, as a sub-grantee of Hawaii Housing Finance Development Corporation (HHFDC), provides foreclosure prevention counseling at no charge.
Foreclosure Counseling & Support
Homeowners will work with a counselor to review their options to avoid foreclosure and outline the steps to pursue their chosen course of action. Submission of a loan modification package or service referrals may be part of the counseling services provided. Counseling is available until the homeowner’s situation is resolved.
Post-Modification Counseling
If you received a temporary loan modification and the lender requires counseling to address a high debt-to-income ratio, this service fulfills that requirement. Goals of the sessions are to identify ways to increase income, decrease debt, and increase savings.
